What counts
An envelope counts once, the first time it is sent, however many documents or signers it has. Reminders and resends of the same envelope don't count again. An envelope that is later voided or declined still counts: it was sent.
Billing
Usage is billed monthly in arrears on your Kiewa statement, with your other Chesterman products. Website sign-ups add a card in Kiewa once their 15 free envelopes are used; until then, live sends answer 402 card_required with an add_card_url. Test envelopes are never blocked.
Watching usage
Settings, Usage shows this month's envelopes by kind and by where they came from. GET /v1/usage?month=2026-11 returns the same.
